Murdo is keen to have funding used for additional parking in Pitlochry.
A survey of local residents’ views on more parking for the Highland Perthshire town was delayed due to the pandemic, thus putting plans on hold, but it is hoped some action can now take place to address the parking situation in the town.
Commenting, Murdo Fraser MSP said: “I have been aware for years of issues with parking in Pitlochry, particularly during the peak tourist season, and would be supportive of any moves to increase parking provision. Pitlochry has always been a popular destination for visitors and tourists so it is only right that there is adequate parking provision in the town.
“There has been a suggestion of providing bigger parking spaces but I personally feel that if you increase the size of the spaces then you would reduce the number available so I’m not keen on that.”
